It's been a year since my son Jarrett died from an overdose involving alcohol and opioids. He was only 37. We miss him every day.

Our son Jarrett brought his intelligence, his passion, and his caring nature to every job, when he was able to work.
As a family, we’re moving forward. But we’ll never move on. We don’t want to forget our son, or his struggle with addiction.
So when we found Shatterproof, a place where families can shatter the silence surrounding this disease, it seemed like the perfect organization to help us heal.
Rise Up Against Addiction
Last fall, my family participated in the Rise Up Against Addiction event in our community. We had a huge team, with over 50 friends and family members walking in memory of my son. It was an incredible, healing day. We encourage you to find one in your area and see how you can get involved as a team member or community partner in 2019. We would love to add your video experiences to The Recovery Help Channel’s YouTube Channel!

This event will show you that you’re never alone when your family deals with addiction. There are thousands of other people in your community who understand, and who want to heal together.
