About Sandy
For over a decade...
Sandy Presant watched his adult son slowly die from alcoholism. It was during this journey of dealing with his grief that Sandy realized the purpose and meaning he had been helpless to give Jarrett during his lifetime could be his legacy in death. Helping others from beyond the grave with this site will bring pride to Jarrett’s 10-year-old daughter, who can grow into a woman with a different narrative about her father’s life and death.

Sanford C. Presant is the founder of The Recovery Help Channel. Sandy---as he is affectionately called by friends and family--is a senior tax law partner in a large law firm in the United States.
Distinguished credentials aside, at the end of the day, Sandy is one of the millions of Americans who know the pain of a child being taken from him by the disease of alcohol and addiction. Sandy lost his son Jarrett to an overdose of alcohol and opioids in October 2017.
Seeking support in his torturous grief---Sandy found his way to Shatterproof, a unique non-profit organization dedicated to helping families cope with a loved one’s addiction. Grateful for the help he received, Sandy wanted to give back. As a Shatterproof ambassador for the Greater Los Angeles area, he offered up his vast network of personal and professional resources to assist Shatterproof’s missions.
Today, Sandy’s unique family advocacy voice is being heard on The Recovery Help Channel, as host and founder. He has uncovered the missing link in all of the constant chatter about the drug epidemic in America. In his quest for help, Sandy learned of a growing group of suffering “Black Star Families” – families of substance addicted loved ones who have no central hub spot for giving and receiving support and information. Finally, there is a spot for empowering suffering families on how they can find the many free paths of healing available to them.
